A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home can help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents within a group home could be involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or could be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some time live on their own not in the group home.
