TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will of course have to have a prior approval before taking part in any type of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors waiting to help you today.
