Medicare is a type of medical insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. If an individual that has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the person must obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual needs to be in a hospital for their issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they've got to self pay.
