Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to participate in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might usually have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug treatment center. This doesn't always work in the rehab client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to address significant drug abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will ordinarily show up at meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or a few days per week. This is often helpful for those who have recently completed a far more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, and for someone with only a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a really small amount of clients. For somebody with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs which provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehabilitation option.
