Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the federal government for older persons, and also people with certain disabilities and sicknesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the person will have to obtain treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start treatment, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically essential, and the doctor will usually approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual must be hospitalized for their problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
