A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home might be involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some point live on their own outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a feasible short term option for many who are trying to get their lives back together.
