Medicare is a type of medical health insurance designed by the government for seniors, along with those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that treatment services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
