Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial drug abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everybody. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will generally show up at meetings and take part in counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days per week. This can be very helpful for those who have recently completed an even more thorough inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with only a short history of drug abuse which is usually a very small amount of clients. For someone with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities that provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous treatment choice.
