TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the favored rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors standing by to help today.
