TRICARE is medical health insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
