Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might usually have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug rehab center. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial substance abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. People who decide on an outpatient rehab will typically attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services part-time daily or several days weekly. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a short history of substance abuse which is really a very small amount of clients. For someone with more severe addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab programs which offer rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more effective treatment option.
