Medicaid is a type of health care insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether or not someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on their earnings however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they earn a fair income. If a person is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or another kind of medical health insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehab program that is approved in their state.
