A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home might help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in a group home might be involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at one point live independently away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a viable temporary option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together.
