Medicaid is a type of medical insurance available for many people who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they make a good income. By way of example, individuals who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even if they make what can be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the expense of rehabilitation, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires rehabilitation. There are lots of drug treatment facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct guidelines for what types of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for example while other states cover more intensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment program. If somebody is involved in drug use and needs help, they're able to use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or some other form of medical insurance to cover rehab, they could determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment center that is approved within their state.
