TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which can be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to assist you today.
