Dual diagnosis rehabs are centers which provide treatment to address both addiction and mental health issues simultaneously. Treatment counselors will continue to work to spot environmental issues in the client's life including negative relationships or other things which must be addressed in order for the person to stay mentally healthy and abstinen t when they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehabilitation which helps them develop more effective coping methods so they are better able to handle life situations better after they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to turning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior answer.
