TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will of course have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors standing by to help you today.
