In a dual diagnosis rehab, treatment counselors will help men and women using a comprehensive treatment plan all aimed at restoring and stabilizing mental, emotional and physical health whilst addressing alcohol and drug abuse problems. Providing a safe environment is essential to ensure that dual diagnosis clients can be at ease and remain free from distraction from things which may compromise their program and development. Rehabilitation counselors will continue to work to spot environmental factors in the client's life such as negative relationships or any other things that need to be addressed in order for the person to be mentally stable and sober t when they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral treatment which will help them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life circumstances more effectively once they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to alcohol and drugs as a possible option.
