Medicare is a kind of health care insurance created by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to people with certain disabilities and sicknesses. When someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they may also have to visit their doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual must be in a hospital for his or her problem, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
