Medicaid is a form of health care insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make a reasonable income. For example, individuals who have many dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they make what can certainly be a sensible income. Medicaid may also cover the price of treatment, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are many drug rehabilitation facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of rehab are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more intensive treatment like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehabilitation center. If someone is involved with substance abuse and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or another form of medical health insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they could find out if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug treatment center that's approved in their state.
