TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to members of the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the favored treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
