Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide rehabilitation to deal with both addiction and mental health issues concurrently. Dual diagnosis is a very prevalent circumstance for those involved with drug abuse, as those that have mental health disorders often self medicate with alcohol and drugs to experience some type of temporary respite from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehabilitation that helps them develop far better coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life circumstances more proficiently once they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior solution.
