A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending people who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in a group home could be involved in rehab services while in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at some point live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it is a feasible short term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
