Individuals who want to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab should they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to participate in rehab services with the same commitment you might usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug treatment center. This doesn't always work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve substantial drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient option, it isn't for everybody. Those that do decide on an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and take part in therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis daily or several days each week. This is often helpful for those who have recently completed an even more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, and for someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a really small number of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug treatment programs that provide rehab on a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous treatment option.
