Hearing impaired persons tend to have an increased risk of drug use issues due to their impairment, and rehabilitation services must be available which cater to their circumstances. Having said that, drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselors who provide rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals comprehend the challenges these clients face. ASL treatment services are of course a necessity, as are treatment services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face.
