A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. Instead of sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home might help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside in the group home could be involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some time live independently away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work.
