Medicaid is a medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance coverage. Whether a person is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they make an acceptable income. For example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they make what can be considered a fair income. Medicaid could also cover the price of treatment, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehab. There are several alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what sorts of rehab are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient treatment services for instance while other states cover more extensive rehabilitation say for example a residential stay in long-term drug rehab facility. If someone is involved with drug abuse and wants help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the money or some other form of health care insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they can find out if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehab program that is approved in their state.
