Medicaid is a form of health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government provided insurance coverage. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they earn an acceptable income. For example, individuals who have many dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they make what can certainly be a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the expenses of rehab, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and needs rehabilitation. There are many drug and alcohol rehab programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what forms of treatment are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for example while other states cover far more extensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment center. If a person is involved with substance abuse and needs help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the money or some other form of health insurance to cover rehab, they could determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol rehab program which is approved inside their state.
