Medicare is a type of health care insurance developed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, along with those that have certain disabilities and diseases. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great degree. The only real exception is, the individual must receive treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start treatment, they can also get to see their doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual must be in a hospital because of their problem, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they've got to self pay.
