TRICARE is health insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any type of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors standing by to help you today.
