Medicaid is a type of medical insurance available for those who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether or not someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon their earnings however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they make a fair income. As an example, individuals who have quite a few dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even if they make what might be described as a sensible income. Medicaid could also cover the costs of rehab, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs treatment. There are lots of drug and alcohol rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct rules for what forms of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug treatment center. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the money or another kind of health insurance to cover rehab, they could check if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehab program which is approved in their state.
