Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS may trigger drug abuse, or dangerous sexual behavior due to drug use could have caused the individual to contract the disease. People who have HIV/AIDS, either due to their drug abuse or as a pre-existing problem before their drug abuse problem, typically require treatment services tailor-made to fulfill their specific needs and challenges. Some challenges are physical in nature, because of the fact that substance abusers with HIV/AIDS hardly ever care for themselves and take the proper medications they need to preserve their health.
