Medicaid is a type of health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government provided insurance. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they earn a good income. As an example, people who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they make an amount be described as a fair income. Medicaid could also cover the costs of treatment, if a person has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are several drug and alcohol rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what sorts of rehab are covered. Some states only cover outpatient treatment services by way of example while other states cover more intensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment center. If someone is involved with substance abuse and wants help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have enough cash or some other type of health care insurance to pay for treatment, they can determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that's approved inside their state.
