Medicaid is a type of medical health insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance coverage. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only determined by their earnings however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they earn a fair income. For instance, people who have many dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they make what would be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the price of treatment, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehabilitation. There are several drug and alcohol rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct rules for what kinds of treatment are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover more intensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab facility. If someone is involved in drug abuse and needs help, they're able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this help. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or some other kind of medical health insurance to cover rehab, they can see if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for a drug rehabilitation program that's approved within their state.
