Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the federal government for senior citizens, as well as those that have certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the person must obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin treatment, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve which kind of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, as well as the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
