TRICARE is health care insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to handle drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very useful, as it may help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors ready to help you today.
