Medicare is a type of medical health insurance designed by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the person will have to obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start treatment, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab solutions. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be hospitalized for his or her problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
