Medicaid is a health care insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only determined by their earnings however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they earn an acceptable income. For example, people who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they earn what can be described as a sensible income. Medicaid can also cover the expense of treatment, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs rehab. There are many drug and alcohol rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct rules for what forms of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. If a person is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or another form of medical health insurance to cover treatment, they could determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment facility which is approved within their state.
