Self pay might be the only option for those who need rehabilitation within an alcohol and drug treatment center for drug abuse but have no health care insurance. It isn't uncommon for an individual addicted to drugs or alcohol to not have private medical insurance, as it can be tough to maintain an alcohol or drug habit going while also sustaining employment. Individuals may not have private health insurance in the first place, but may make too much money to be eligible for Medicaid which will cover some types of rehabilitation.
