Medicaid is a type of medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether or not an individual qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they make an acceptable income. For instance, people who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they earn an amount be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid could also cover the expense of treatment, if a person has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are numerous drug rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover more extensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term drug rehab facility. If anyone is involved with drug use and wants help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or any other form of health insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they could determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that is approved inside their state.
