Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for many people who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether a person qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on their earnings however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they earn a reasonable income. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more intensive treatment like a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehab center. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the money or another form of medical health insurance to cover treatment, they could find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehab center which is approved in their state.
