Hearing impaired men and women generally have a heightened chance of drug use issues because of the impairment, and rehab services should be at hand which cater to their needs. Having said that, drug and alcohol treatment counselors who provide rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals understand the challenges these clients face. ASL treatment services are definitely a necessity, as are rehab services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy offers a forum for important peer support in order that rehab clients can know that they are not alone, and that there is hope to resolve their challenge with alcohol and drugs. Individual therapy services may be more tailored for each person so that their particular problems can be remedied in treatment.
