TRICARE is medical health insurance which is provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior authorization before taking part in any sort of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to assist you today.
