A group home for a person who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. As opposed to sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home might help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or might be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently away from the group home.
