Medicaid is a type of medical health insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government provided insurance. Whether a person qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they earn a fair income. For instance, people who have quite a few dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even if they earn what can be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid could also cover the expense of rehabilitation, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires treatment. There are several alcohol and drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what types of rehabilitation are covered. Certain states only include outpatient treatment services as an example while other states cover more intensive rehabilitation like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab program. If somebody is involved in drug abuse and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the money or some other type of health care insurance to pay for treatment, they could see if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which is approved within their state.
