Medicaid is a medical insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance. Whether or not somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they earn a reasonable income. As an example, people who have quite a few dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they make what might be considered a fair income. There are many drug and alcohol rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what sorts of rehab are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more intensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If someone is involved with drug use and desires help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or any other type of health insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug rehabilitation facility that's approved within their state.
