TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which is often organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very beneficial, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
