This is often an extremely tough or painful way to live, and leads many LGBT individuals to a life of drug use to numb these feelings. This situation is certainly a common trigger for drug abuse, and is also an example of something can be handled in treatment. LGBT clients often would like to be accepted within their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and produce confidence in order to lead a wholesome life without any drugs and alcohol.
