TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will naturally be required to get a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to help you today.
