Medicare is a form of medical health insurance designed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, along with people with specific disabilities and diseases. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great degree. The one exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual has to be in a hospital for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
